		<description>Hey, Slayfoe, sometimes in a war (which is economic) you can&#039;t afford to give financial aid or comfort to the enemy, even if it would be the &quot;right&quot; thing to do.  And in this case, there was an ambiguity -- Aktala &lt;i&gt;thought&lt;/i&gt; there was a no-podding agreement in place, when in fact there was just my expression of intent not to pod -- almost, but not quite, the same thing (the difference between &quot;I promise not to&quot; and &quot;I don&#039;t plan to&quot;).  So, I did not feel an absolute obligation to pay reparations.   I felt, then and now, that it was the right thing to do ... I just didn&#039;t think it made military and strategic sense.  So it was a relief that the war ended that same day and I could &quot;do the right thing&quot;.</description>
