Although I tend to agree with Alex on the long run, I must say I had quite a good time reading about Zim's seemingly boundless stupidity. As frustrating as these kind of in-game encounters can be, It is always nice to lay back and enjoy the (very well-written) summary you make of it.

Of course, VampireZIm (by the way, is he some kind of eternal incarnation of Bob Dylan ?) does not deserve the time and attention he gets. I love a fiery war waged on the name of revenge, but this half-heartedly attempt to destroy someone on the chat instead of blowing his ship up repeatedly was a bit lame the first time, but is becoming hugely lamer as time passes.

Nevertheless, please let us know if the vampire with the big mouth succeed in scratching your neck with something else than hreats someday...

Pft...who needs City of Heroes and City of Villains?

Eve Online is where the real arch-enemies and nemesis get cultivated.

Alex, it's a fair beef fairly stated. The current round with Zim lacks much of the high-spirited fun for which we here in Ironfleet strive, and does indeed risk becoming tedious.

Unfortunately for this blog, most of my recent game time has been spent getting a remedial education in fleet warfare, something that I never had the chance to do before Factional Warfare came in. Although I'm enjoying it immensely, some of the common slams against big fleets are true -- namely, that epic and entertaining moments are few and far between, leaving me with not so much to blog about. The fact that I am flying a lot of support-class ships (logistics, EW) makes that problem worse -- most outings I don't even get on the killmails, even if I did quite a lot of good for the fleet.

The upside is that I'm learning a lot of PvP skills that will be useful in Ironfleet's future exploits, and making a lot of friendly contacts in the fleets. So I expect that the time investment will pay off in future fun (to go with the current dull-ish fun) and many entertaining topics to blog about down the road.

Marlenus,

I have been following your blog for a while now, long enough I cannot even recall how I came upon it in the first place. These events with this Zim character have been quite comical and entertaining to read. They almost parody the random encounters with the average fool in the day to day life, and I find that amusing. Unfortunately, such experiences are not the highlight of my day, and sometimes it gets a little old hearing of someone so stubbornly dig themselves into a hole of complete embarrassment (he sounds like just a bratty kid, so I doubt he'll change his attitude at all regardless of what you do).

As a fan of your work, Marlenus, it would be cool to hear or some of your other ventures and spoils of your time in Eve. :P Looking for stragglers in FW with those stealth bombers you mentioned the other day sounds quite interesting. Who knows, maybe you'll make a new friend?
