I looked at my bookmark for his wreck, later, and he was actually at a place a few hundred thousand klicks away from a grav site. I wonder if he was trying to scan down sites and had gotten close enough to get one of those (CCP says bugged, I just assumed an artifact of deviation) warpable non-hits we sometimes get.

3D, that’s exactly right. I fly the missile boats in such a way that the drones are rarely part of the plan, which means that I always forget about ‘em when they’d actually help.

It might help if I’d ever been a big drone boat user, but I haven’t.

Kahega, thanks for the clarifications and the chat log. I wasn’t paying attention to the drones I fear, since they were all chasing you. ;-) I also wasn’t clear on how you were trying to find our guy at first.

Some clarification: I did not have a probe launcher. I was hoping he was hanging out at an Anomaly or a planet/moon so I could get a fix on him with d-scan, which he was not.

And I was a bit anxious about the Myrm as I was expecting light drones. None came, and I rather easily tanked his med drones.

With regard to ransoms, I think of it this way: It gives us money and it accomplishes the same thing (The guy wont be coming back any time soon), so there’s no real reason not to.

I always struggle with what drones to put in a Caracal. You can only fit 2 lights or one medium after all… Lately I’ve been throwing in a pair of target painting drones.

happens to me every single time too. You just don’t think about drones when piloting a caldari missile boat.
